Luxury Barre & Yin Yoga
•The RI.Perspective
This proposal revolves around a figure who does not simply teach a discipline, but has built a language, an aesthetic of movement, and a precise imaginary of the contemporary female body.
Sophia Willoughby Jeremiasz brings to this experience a recognisable signature: California Barre is a low-impact barre fitness method that works through isometric micro-movements to tone, lengthen, and realign the body, combining precision, control, and vigour. It is the result of an already fully formed vision, refined over the years between Paris, elite teaching, and the training of new professionals in the field.
When a retreat takes shape from such a clearly defined framework, the very substance of participation changes: one does not join a generic container, but enters a coherent universe.
The retreat takes place at Finca Formet, a historic residence dating back to 1900, set among olive trees and overlooking the Mediterranean, a setting that reinforces the secluded and carefully curated dimension of the proposal.
The structure of the days brings the founder’s technique into dialogue with Gemma Vassallo’s work in Yin Yoga, creating an alternation between the intensity of the practice and listening. On the one hand, Sophia’s method, which tones, orders, and channels energy; on the other, Gemma’s contribution, shaped by anatomical study, experience, and a deeper exploration of movement, introducing a quality of attention that refines perception, supports integration, and gives continuity to the overall structure. It is within this complementarity that the experience holds together dynamism and release through a deliberate design.
