Disconnect to Reconnect

• The RI.Perspective
In the Gold Coast Hinterland, the rainforest of Binna Burra is not a landscape to simply take in: it is an active presence, the tool through which Georgia Wakefield shapes an experience of physiological regulation, away from the conventional aesthetics of wellness.
With a background in emergency healthcare and training in yoga and breathwork, Georgia leads a residential retreat exclusively for women in Lamington National Park. Her expertise is evident in the structure of the retreat: a progression of practices, yoga, breathwork, guided hikes through the Hinterland landscape, in which nature sets the rhythm, creates the conditions for listening, and works on the body’s responses to stress. Digital detox and slow living form the necessary premise for suspending automatisms and expectations, and for bringing attention back to the body.
It is within this essential, quiet space, supported by Georgia’s professionalism, that individual work becomes possible.
