Still Light Watercolor

The RI.Perspective
Seven days of painting and observation guided by artist Julia Ustinovich in Spain’s Montgó Natural Park, where natural light and a slow rhythm define the experience.
At Les Beates, a residence curated by Natalia Korobeynyk-Van Straaten, host and watercolor artist, a group of eight participants refines their use of the medium through the study of the human figure and the face, turning the discipline into an investigation of proportion, color, and the emotional rendering of the image.
The painter’s vision is rooted in the sharing of her creative process: studio sessions are paired with en plein air outings between the port, the coves, and the village.
The interaction with the surrounding environment guides a more personal gaze, where method and sensitivity find their own measure.
The villa, surrounded by vineyards and overlooking the sea, reinforces the retreat’s coherence with this approach, offering a quiet, intimate setting aligned with Julia’s research.
