Colour Within
•The RI.Perspective
Colour Within, held at Chiaraluce Country House in the Marche region, is a painting retreat guided by Polish artist Kasia Kręcicka. She leads the group through an exploration of abstract language, with a focus on the psychological dimension of colour and the search for one’s most authentic sources of inspiration.
The programme alternates moments of technical practice with individual exchanges. Through exercises on tonal values, layering, and the construction of the surface, each participant is invited to observe their creative process more closely: where an idea begins, what blocks it, and which choices make it more legible. The culinary experience with the chef also becomes part of this trajectory: the work on layers, textures, and the balance between levels gives concrete form to what is explored in the studio. This inquiry becomes a way to bring memory, sensitivity, and inner form to the surface.
Beyond the practice itself, the rhythm of the retreat is also shaped by time in nature and pauses within the surrounding landscape, among the vineyards and villages around Chiaraluce: a space that allows the gaze to soften, concentration to ease, and the return to painting with renewed clarity.
The stay concludes with a vernissage open to the local community, transforming the personal path into a moment of sharing. What remains is a deeper familiarity with colour, a more conscious eye for composition, and a clearer direction in the way an artwork is developed.
