Slow living & art
•The RI.Perspective
Among the hills of the Marche and the Adriatic Sea, the Chiaraluce estate hosts retreats dedicated to the visual arts and to practices that require observation and presence. It is an essential setting, defined by fields and quiet, ideal for working with focus and moving in rhythm with the slower pace of the countryside.
Within this framework, the experience led by Shelly Thanner unfolds, dedicated to pictorial research and expressive inquiry. Using acrylics and mixed techniques, she accompanies participants in the exploration of rhythm, colour and materials, inviting them to develop a personal visual language and a more conscious dialogue with their gesture.
Her method integrates artistic practice with moments of meditation and inner listening, fostering a conscious dialogue between gesture and perception.
The approach is process-led: experimentation matters more than the final outcome. The closing vernissage is not conceived as a commercial exhibition, but as a moment of sharing the work done, where the artworks become a reflection of the evolution that has occurred during the retreat.
Studio sessions alternate with time spent outdoors, between walks and explorations of the surrounding landscape. The presence of the animals and the silence of the hills create the resonance needed for Shelly’s method to emerge naturally, offering the space to breathe again and reconnect.
