Ligury Traversa Adventure
•The RI.Perspective
Ligury Traversa is a full east-to-west crossing of Liguria, from La Spezia to Ventimiglia, by bicycle, along secondary roads, easy gravel tracks, inland villages, woods, beech forests and steady climbs between the Apennines and the Ligurian Alps.
The experience takes shape from the vision of Stefano Scapitta, founder of Esco a Fare un Giro, expert bikepacking guide and track builder, for whom the route becomes the backbone of the adventure. Over nine days of bikepacking, without external support, the group covers approximately 575 kilometres and more than 15,000 metres of positive elevation gain. The terrain is technically accessible, yet requires training and adaptability, within a pared-back, authentic and shared form of travel.
It is a travelling retreat that, in its radical simplicity, places cycling, orientation and the encounter with oneself at the centre. Energy, endurance and attention become the way in which effort opens onto a regenerative and immersive dimension, where direct contact with nature and landscape turns the territory into something fully lived.
It is designed for those seeking a concrete journey, capable of shedding the superfluous and restoring that extraordinary feeling of “having everything without possessing anything.”
